Terrorist Invade Southern Kaduna Community, Abduct 10 Residents in Kauru LGA

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Terrorists have again attacked Southern Kaduna, abducting 10 residents from Kuyanbana village in Rumaya community, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident, which occurred on Thursday, October 23, 2025, reportedly happened around 10:30 p.m. despite the presence of nearby military formations in the area.

Those kidnapped include Anthony Gambo, Sule S. Maigari, Asabe Sule, Makuku Joshua, Bako Bagobiri, Regina Nehemiah, Kabiru Ishaku, Lemich Ishaku, Solomon Barnabas, and Kaninzo Maitala.

Confirming the development, the Kauru Local Government Community Development Associations (CDAs) Forum condemned the attack in a statement signed by its spokesman, Daniel Danau, on behalf of the Forum’s Chairman, Dr. Billy Ishaya Laah.

“The Kauru Local Government Community Development Associations Forum strongly condemns the kidnapping of 10 innocent individuals from Kuyanbana village, Rumaya community, around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, 23/10/2025, by unknown gunmen,” the statement read.

The forum expressed deep concern over the recurring cases of abduction in the area despite the presence of military bases in nearby locations, including Dokan Karji in Kauru Chiefdom, Damakasuwa in Tsam, and Kwassam in Kumana Chiefdom.

“This is uncalled for, and we urge the authorities to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators of this unfortunate act and bring them to justice,” the statement added.

The CDAs also called on the Kaduna State Government and security agencies to act swiftly to secure the safe release of the abducted victims, describing the incessant kidnappings as “barbaric and unacceptable.”

“Many communities can no longer sleep with both eyes closed due to fear of the unknown,” the statement lamented, urging government authorities to strengthen surveillance and security operations across the region.

While sympathizing with the victims and their families, the association appealed to residents of Kauru Local Government Area to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by promptly reporting suspicious movements or individuals.

The group also reiterated its commitment to working with government and security operatives to ensure lasting peace and the protection of lives and property in Southern Kaduna.

This latest attack adds to the series of violent incidents in Southern Kaduna, where banditry and kidnappings have persisted despite ongoing security interventions.
