Terrorist Leaders in North Central Express Willingness to Surrender, Says DHQ

By   Milcah   Tanimu

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has confirmed that some terrorist leaders in North Central Nigeria have expressed a willingness to surrender.

In a statement on Thursday, Zagazola Makama, a Lake Chad Basin counterterrorism expert, quoted Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations. Buba explained that the military had opened a surrender corridor for terrorists seeking to lay down their arms.

He added that the terrorists were aware they could not match the military’s strength. “Their options are to surrender or face death on the battlefield,” Buba stated, confirming that several leaders, commanders, and fighters had shown interest in surrendering.
