The Man of the Moment: New Finance Commissioner, Dr. Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya

“The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is to live inside that hope.” These words resonate with the life and achievements of Dr. Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya, the newly appointed Commissioner of Finance for Kano State.

Dr. Danmaraya’s remarkable journey to success is rooted in his dedication to education, public service, and socio-community engagement. His appointment by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, is seen as a testament to the governor’s commitment to reforming all sectors of the state.

This development has been widely praised by the people of Kano, who consider Dr. Danmaraya’s appointment as well-deserved and timely. The former Chairman of the Task Force Committee on the revival of 26 abandoned Kano State Entrepreneurship Institutions is known for his tenacity, hard work, and loyalty to Kwankwasiyya ideals.

Dr. Danmaraya, an accomplished academician, financial strategist, and grassroots politician, has consistently demonstrated a strong spirit and unyielding determination. His professional accomplishments span reputable national and international journal publications in economics, finance, and management research. Holding B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Economics from Bayero University, Kano, and a Ph.D. in Economics from Utara University, Malaysia, Dr. Danmaraya has built a career that seamlessly bridges academia and public service. He previously served as a consultant and lecturer at Northwest University, Kano, and the American University of Nigeria (AUN).

As the new Commissioner of Finance, Dr. Danmaraya is expected to bring his extensive experience and strategic vision to revitalize Kano State’s financial sector. His boldness, selfless service, and commitment to excellence are poised to drive reforms that will set new standards for the ministry.
