Obiaku highlights that many scholars attribute the chaos in Nigeria to the desperate quest for survival. He references his earlier work, “The Man Whose Job Caused Him Losing on Both Sides,” which illustrates how hunger drives behavioral changes among the lower and middle classes in Nigeria. The narrative of Mr. Ebeledike serves as a case study, revealing how individuals are forced to make perilous choices in their struggle for survival.

He describes the IPOB’s fight for self-determination as a reflection of the broader struggle for identity and autonomy among the Igbo people.
