Tinubu Commends Senate for Speedy Confirmation of Musa as Defence Minister

President Bola Tinubu has applauded the Senate for the prompt confirmation of former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (rtd), as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence.

In a post on his X handle, the President revealed that he had forwarded Musa’s nomination to the Senate just two days earlier and expressed gratitude for the lawmakers’ swift response.

“I want to commend the Nigerian Senate for its expedited confirmation of General Musa yesterday (Wednesday). His appointment comes at a critical juncture in our lives as a nation,” Tinubu wrote.

He described Musa as a “fine gentleman” whose appointment carries significant importance for the country at this time.

The President concluded his message with a brief prayer: “God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
