The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 Presidential election held on the 25th of February 2023 across with 8 794 726 votes.
The Chief Returning Officer of the Presidential election who also doubled as INEC Chairman ,Professor Mahmud Yakubu who made the declaration about 4.10am this morning also announced that certificate of return will be presented to the President- Elect ,Ahmed Tinubu at 3pm today at the International Conference Center( ICC) in Abuja.
Tinubu’s closest rival is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who scored 6,984,520, who lost to Senator Tinubu with a margin of 1,810,206.
The third place went to Labour Party Candidate , Peter Obi with 6,101,533 and fourth position went to Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) who scored 1,496 687.
According to INEC figures, total valid votes in the presidential election is 24, 025,940.Total invalid votes accounted for 939,278 while the total vote cast in the February 25, 2023 presidential election was 24, 965, 218.
INEC has said that a little over 87 million PVC were collected by registered voters with over 90million registered voters.
INEC Chairman announced that statement will be issued tomorrow to inform all the candidates elected into the National Assembly when their certificate of return will be presented to them.
