Tinubu Steps in to Resolve Rivers Crisis, Holds Talks with Fubara and Wike in Aso Rock

By Daniel Edu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a proactive role in addressing the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. This intervention was confirmed by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum and the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, during his statement to State House correspondents.

Governor Mohammed revealed that President Tinubu is actively engaged in discussions with the key stakeholders involved in the Rivers crisis. Presently, he is holding meetings with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to facilitate the restoration of peace in the state.

Governor Mohammed expressed, “He (President Tinubu) has shown that he is President for both the PDP and APC, and we are going to work with him.”

Earlier reports indicated that Governor Fubara and his predecessor had convened at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday morning, preceding the meeting of the Nigeria Police Council (NPC).
