President Bola Tinubu has announced plans to construct a new national secretariat for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
Speaking at the 14th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party held on Thursday at the State House Conference Centre, Tinubu said,
“We’ll look for an appropriate land to build a befitting secretariat.”
While the president did not disclose the proposed budget for the project, his statement marks a significant step toward expanding the party’s administrative infrastructure.
The current APC national headquarters, known as Muhammadu Buhari House, is located at 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja. The building was officially named after former President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2021, after the APC paid N2.5 billion for the property and relocated its operations there.
Although the party held its previous NEC meeting at Buhari House, Thursday’s emergency session was convened at the Presidential Villa, further fueling speculation about the need for a larger or more strategically located facility.
