Tinubu’s Leadership and Military Successes in Tackling Terrorism

By Milcah Tanimu

President Bola Tinubu’s decisive leadership has resulted in significant military successes in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism. Under his guidance, the country’s armed forces have achieved remarkable victories, showcasing effective strategies and enhanced security efforts.

Recently, Operation HadarinDaji forces delivered a major blow to terrorist activities by eliminating Halilu Sububu, a notorious leader responsible for numerous attacks in Zamfara and Sokoto states. Sububu’s gang, known for its brutality and intimidation, has been dismantled, leading to greater safety for local communities.

The operation also targeted and neutralized Sani Wala Burki, an associate of Sububu, and dismantled a terrorist hideout in Kaduna, rescuing 13 kidnapped students. In Zamfara state, security forces eliminated four other terrorists— Ibrahim Nagure, Lawali Dodo, Kadiri, and Jambaleri— further weakening the terrorist network.

Additionally, security forces captured Hosseini Osman in Plateau state, a key terrorist leader who confessed to orchestrating multiple attacks. Operations in Sambisa Forest also targeted fleeing terrorists, consolidating the gains made in the fight against terrorism.

These successes reflect President Tinubu’s strategic directive for service chiefs to be actively involved in conflict zones and his strong support for security agencies. Following violent incidents in Yobe state, Tinubu promised that perpetrators would face justice, a commitment now being fulfilled through these successful operations.

The recent achievements highlight improved coordination among security and intelligence agencies, addressing past inefficiencies and strengthening counter-terrorism efforts.

Beyond immediate actions, President Tinubu’s administration is also addressing underlying issues such as youth illiteracy and socio-economic instability. Investments in education, including reintegrating four million out-of-school children and training approximately 10,000 young Nigerians, are central to these efforts.

With a focus on both immediate and long-term strategies, President Tinubu is committed to ensuring a safer and more stable Nigeria through effective leadership and comprehensive security measures.
