Tragedy Strikes as Man Allegedly Takes Own Life Following N2.5m Betting Loss

In a distressing incident, Onoh Chukwuma, a Facebook user, reportedly took his own life on Tuesday after losing N2.5 million to betting. Onoh’s Facebook post, declaring it as his last day on earth, shocked friends and followers who were unaware that he had already ingested an insecticide before making the announcement.

Expressing gratitude to certain individuals in his post, including Chima Anyaso, Ikukuoma Abia, Kelvin Jombo Onumah, and Ekwueme Ohafia, Onoh’s distress prompted friends to rush him to Madonna Hospital, Umuahia. Despite the medical team’s efforts to resuscitate him, Onoh did not survive.

It was revealed that Onoh, burdened by shame and pressure from those he borrowed money from, had allegedly lost N2.5 million to betting. Friends expressed heartbreak over his tragic end, with one mentioning that Onoh had N1 million and borrowed an additional N1.5 million for a bet that failed, leading to his devastating decision.

The news of Onoh’s demise spread on social media, with friends sharing condolences on his Facebook page. The incident highlights the potential emotional toll of gambling losses and the importance of addressing mental health concerns within the context of financial struggles.
