The victim, identified as Mr. Nwoga Maduabuchi, hailed from Akparata village, Igbeagu community in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. He was married to the suspect, his second wife, from Uburu community in the Ohaozara Local Government Area, and the couple resided in Abakaliki, the state capital.

According to a security officer who spoke on condition of anonymity, the tragedy occurred during an argument between the victim and his second wife over a family issue.

“The man is just a victim of domestic violence,” the source stated. “He had two wives. The first wife is from Izzi Local Government Area, while the second wife is from Uburu in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of the state.”

The source further explained, “It’s a family matter. But the second wife became so enraged over the issue and acted the way she did, by pushing her husband down from the two-storey building. That’s the height of it. That’s the height of wickedness.”

Another reliable source, who preferred not to be named, revealed that the suspect was heavily pregnant and had been having frequent quarrels with her late husband. “The second wife was constantly nagging,” the source added.

Expressing shock over the incident, a community member named Ogo Mike described the situation as horrific, highlighting that the victim was an elder brother to his friend.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi State Police Command, DSP Ukandu Joshua, stated that he was yet to be informed of the incident by the Divisional Police Officer. He requested details of the location in Abakaliki where the incident took place to facilitate further investigation.
