The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, Rinsola Abiola, has called on Nigerian youths to remain hopeful and supportive of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, assuring them that their concerns remain a priority.
Speaking at a Ramadan lecture and Iftar event organized by the Rinsola Abiola Foundation in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Abiola emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to youth development. She highlighted his consistent engagement with young people, both during his campaign and since assuming office.
Abiola pointed to the newly established National Youth Conference, where she serves as a member, as evidence of the administration’s dedication to including youths in governance and policy-making. She noted that the conference committee includes representatives from civil society and individuals beyond the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ensuring diverse perspectives.
“I urge you to have faith in this administration and trust that those of us representing the youth are actively advocating for their interests,” she said.
She also highlighted the efforts of the Youth Minister in addressing key issues and mentioned the Student Loan Fund as an initiative designed to create equal opportunities for all students.
“With a youth-friendly president who understands the importance of empowering young people, this administration is taking deliberate steps to address their concerns,” Abiola added.
She encouraged youths to stay engaged, participate in government initiatives, and take advantage of available opportunities.
Delivering a lecture titled “Islamic Perspectives on Youth Development and Leadership,” the Imam of Gbaguraland, Prof. Kamaldeen Balogun, urged young Nigerians to acquire relevant skills to prepare for leadership roles.
