Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen on Sunday etched his name into the club’s history books, becoming the fourth-highest scoring foreign player of all time.
Osimhen reached the milestone after scoring in Galatasaray’s 3–0 victory over Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig.
Barış Alper Yılmaz opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Yunus Akgün doubled Galatasaray’s lead. Osimhen then sealed the win in the 73rd minute, helping the visitors claim all three points.
The goal took Osimhen’s tally to 52 goals for Galatasaray, allowing him to overtake Bafétimbi Gomis, who had 51 goals, and move into fourth place on the club’s all-time list of foreign scorers.
Only three players now sit ahead of the Nigerian international: Mauro Icardi (73 goals), Gheorghe Hagi (72 goals), and Milan Baroš (61 goals).
