The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has announced the appointment of 40 of its senior academics to the prestigious Professorial cadre.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman (SAN), approved the appointments following recommendations from the University’s Appointment and Promotion Committee.
In a statement from the Office of the Registrar of the institution, Barr. Alfa Nla, it was revealed that the 40 distinguished scholars were recognized for their outstanding contributions in teaching, research, and community service, earning them promotion to the highest rank in academia.
The breakdown of the new Professors includes 11 from the Faculty of Agriculture, such as Prof. Sidiqat Aderinoye-Abdulwahab, Prof. L. L. Adefalu, and Prof. A. A. Badmos. The Faculty of Arts produced Prof. K. M. U. Gbodofu and Prof. Y. A. Abdullahi, among others, while the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences contributed Prof. A. S. Alabi.
Professors were also appointed from faculties including Clinical Sciences, Communication and Information Science, Education, Engineering and Technology, Law, Life Sciences, Management Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
