Union Bank fails to refund N500,000 deducted from customer’s account after failed PoS withdrawal.

Chidi Eze, a resident of Anambra, has revealed to FIJ that Union Bank PLC has refused to refund his N500,000 after a failed transaction that occurred over two months ago. Despite the transaction exceeding his PoS limit, the money has not been returned to his bank account. Despite numerous emails and visits to the bank’s office, he has been repeatedly told to wait, with assurances that they are addressing the issue. Eventually, he was instructed to send a mail to the Union Bank headquarters after visiting the Amawbia branch in Awka.According to a Union Bank representative, the bank is currently investigating the N500,000 transaction and will reverse it if confirmed as a failed transaction. However, as of the latest update, nearly two weeks later, Union Bank has not provided any feedback or refunded the amount to Chidi Eze. At the time of the press, Eze is still awaiting his refund.
