A United States-based Nigerian entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Your Timepiece International Company Limited, Mr. Kerry Kenu, has relocated to Abuja, Nigeria, with plans to employ 10,000 Nigerians through his new restaurant venture, Your Taste Restaurant.
Speaking with journalists after the company’s re-launch at the World Trade Centre, Abuja, on Saturday, Kenu disclosed that the recruitment process for the new restaurant began on Wednesday, with the first set of employees expected to resume by November 16.
“We had our first interview this morning, and by November 16, we’ll start employing the first batch of applicants,” he said.
Kenu explained that Your Taste Restaurant is part of a larger business initiative aimed at providing jobs and skill development opportunities for Nigerians across different categories. He noted that the restaurant will employ both permanent and ad-hoc staff, offering opportunities to Nigerians aged between 20 and 50 years.
“Our company has operated in the U.S. since 2022, but now we’re bringing it back home. Through Your Taste Restaurant, we are guaranteeing direct employment for over 10,000 Nigerians,” he stated.
According to Kenu, the initiative is not only about creating jobs but also about improving business capacity and practical skills among Nigerian youths.
“We are focusing on business development for existing enterprises while also providing resource training. The goal is to teach practical, everyday skills that can help Nigerians become employable and self-reliant,” he added.
The entrepreneur further revealed plans to expand the company beyond Abuja, acknowledging the city’s high cost of living and the need to extend opportunities to other regions.
“I’ve lived in Abuja before and understand the environment. Once we establish our structure and resources, we plan to expand to other parts of Nigeria,” he said.
The re-launch event also served as a pre-launch for Your Taste Restaurant, which is scheduled to officially open on November 29. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to job creation and economic empowerment within the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
