Illela Babba is just five kilometers away from Sokoto metropolis and complained that they had never experience any form of dividends of democracy despite huge number of votes they contribute during elections.
In an interview with Vision FM Sokoto, the people of Illela Babba in Wamakko local government said they contributed about seven hundred fifty five thousand and seven three kobo (N750,000.73) 14 years ago to bring power to the village,that apart, we also made way to bring pipe water to our village.
Those interviewed said they had never in their lives experience any form of dividends of democracy being executed in the village.
“Several times we forward our complaints to our Councillor, Caretaker Chairman and State Assembly Legislative Member but all to no avail”.
Murtala Bello Maigona is the State Legislative Member and when contacted said he had nothing to utter regarding the issue likewise Council Caretaker Chairman Aminu Tambari could not be reached as his phone was switched off according to the network.
They said their only worry is to be recognised and their contributions acknowledged by democratic governments.
