President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded the FCT Minister Barr. Nysome Wike for replicating impactful infrastructural development and governance to the people of FCT.
The president re-emphasized his administration’s commitment to giving citizens impactful infrastructures to improve their lives.
Tinubu stated this on Thursday in Abuja during the inauguration of the newly constructed Collector Road CN2 (Zakari A. Kyari Street) and other roads to celebrate his second year in office.
Also inaugurated the road from Arterial Road N11 (Ahmadu Bello Way) in Mabushi District to Judges Quarters in Katampe District, in addition to other roads within Katampe, were constructed by the FCT Administration.
Tinubu who was represented by the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, said that his administration would continue to invest in critical infrastructure.
According to him, key areas of concentration include roads, bridges, housing, transportation, education, and healthcare.
“I assure you that we are committed to making sure that every Nigerian feels the impact of good governance. We will continue to work tirelessly to deliver infrastructure projects that will enhance the quality of lives of our citizens.”
“This project reflects our administration’commitment to urban development and improving the quality of life for our citizens. We believe that infrastructure development is critical to national growth and development,” he said.
President Tinubu commended the FCT Minister,Barr. Nyesom Wike and his team for prioritizing infrastructure development in the territory.
He urged the residents of Mabushi, Katampe, and surrounding areas to own and preserve the roads as they put them into use.
Wike stated that the construction of the roads was flagged off in October 2024 for completion in 12 months, but the contractor, CGC, was able to deliver the roads in about nine months.
According to the FCT minister, the roads would not only improve mobility and interconnectivity but also improve the economies of the areas.
Also, he said that the roads is an economic advantage to landowners who will significantly increase prices of their land in these areas.
Furthermore, Wike thanked the president for the successes he has recorded in the delivery of infrastructural projects in the FCT.
Earlier, Acting Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority, Richard Dauda, stated that the CN2 road was a dual carriageway with two lanes each, whereas the other roads were single carriageways.
He noted that road projects were executed to provide infrastructure and open up the Katampe District for development.
