Senior Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministry, Abuja, has refuted claims that his ministry has used the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to mislead the public concerning spiritual items.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the church’s media arm and signed by Sophia Iloyd, the ministry labeled the allegations as baseless and deceptive. This response followed NAFDAC’s warning to the public about the church’s alleged misuse of the agency’s name.
The church emphasized that it remains a law-abiding institution, adhering to all regulations, including those of NAFDAC. “At no point has our church deceived the public. We have not produced or sold consumable items, let alone misused NAFDAC’s name,” the statement clarified.
The ministry acknowledged receiving a letter from NAFDAC on August 27, 2024, inviting Prophet Fufeyin for an inquiry into the use of miracle and healing items. However, the church claimed it was given less than 12 hours to respond and had already communicated its position to NAFDAC through official correspondence.
The statement also addressed a complaint filed by Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkblackman, who had made allegations against the church. The ministry said Otse had forged receipts to support his claims, with discrepancies in dates and details compared to official church receipts.
The church informed NAFDAC that these receipts were under police investigation but expressed disappointment that the agency had not responded to their communications or provided further feedback on the matter.
