By Phineas Padio

Aisha Usman, 21 year old girl is in police net for Kidnapping herself to obtain N1 million from her own parents

Miss Usman confessed to her crime, while fielding questions from newsmen in Yola, yesterday.

She said she took to the crime because “I’ve carefully observed that Kidnapping seems to be lucrative”.

Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Sabo Ibrahim Umar paraded Aisha and other suspects who were arrested in connection to Kidnapping, armed robbery and sundry crimes.

“On the 14/01/2019 at about 1900hrs a case of kidnapping was received at Doubeli Police Station that, one Aisha Usman ‘f’ was kidnapped.

“Personnel of the state CID swung into action and later discovered that the said Aisha prudently sent a text message to her parents that she was kidnapped and that her abductors were demanding large sums of money as ransom.

“Aisha however, confessed to have framed her kidnapping, she said it was all done with a view to get money from her parents”, CP Umar said.

He therefore counseled the public not to rush into paying ransom when faced with cases of kidnap. “The police has all it takes to bust kidnap cases”, CP Umar added.

The CP also paraded six armed rubbery suspects and other six suspects arrested for alleged kidnapping.

Yusuf Bauchi, Kabiru Mohammed, Magaji Bello, Yusuf Sale, Buba Bello, Isa Maigari and Usman Bello, were alleged to have attacked and robed one Abdullahi Umoru and his friend, both of Wuro Belle village in Yola South; “causing them grievous hurts”.

Similarly, Haruna Suleiman, Salau Sale, Maikudi Musa, Suleiman Haruna, Abdulmumini Ibrahim and Abubakar Babayo Raga of Garyayel village in Gombi LGA of Adamawa state, belong to a kidnap syndicate terrorising people around Gombi local government area according to the police.

However, the syndicate ran out of luck when they kidnapped their last victim on his farm and got a ransom of N150,000. Just as one Maimuna Sale, a victim of kidnap by a separate gang was also on hand to testify how her husband also parted with N150,000 to buy her freedom.

Large cache of dangerous firearms recovered from the suspects were displayed by the police.
