Wike calls for partnership with China on Agric, IT

The FCT Minister, Barr. Nysome Wike has called on the Chinese government for partnership on agricultural development and IT education for youths in the Capital city.

Wike made this known on Tuesday when the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E Yu Dunhai paid him courtesy call in his office.

The minister said that partnership with the Chinese government in agricultural development because Abuja is good for farming.

Wike said, “I would like us to also partner in terms of agriculture. It’s very key. We have very good land for whatever kind of farm. So it would interest us more if we can partner on that.”

The minister emphasized that youth empowerment is key, noted that to move forward education of the youth is key.So like you said, the youth is key.

“So these are two very areas I would like us to cooperate, partner together, and see what we can do to be a symbiotic relationship”, Wike said.

“And then the vocational school, particularly as it relates to ICT.”
The minister recalled his visit to China with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on bilateral talks between China and Nigeria.

He also recalled that FCT has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU with two Chinese companies, the CGC and CCECC to carry out water and streetlights projects.

The Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Yu Dunhai said that the aim of his visit to the FCT Minister to strengthen the I think during the visit was to deepen the Bilateral relations between the two countries.
Dunhai commended the minister for the noticeable development in the city under his leadership .

So as Chinese Ambassador, I would like to reconfirm our commitment to this very important bilateral relationship, Dunhai emphasized.
