The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike on Tuesday ordered the immediate clearance of scavengers of the proposed transit way corridor along Mabushi and Katampe Districts of Abuja, as security operatives and relevant FCT city managers commenced massive clearance exercise in the area.
Officials gathered that scavengers ‘Baban Bolas’, mechanics and furniture makers among others who have long occupied the area were affected by the demolition exercise operation which involves clearance, and evacuation of large cashew plantation and shanties.
Wike who spoke during a visit to the site, said that the place as an eyesore, and looks like a place where people commit crime and ran into to take refuge.
