The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has said that Rivers State is ready to correct its leadership mistake in 2027.
Wike, the former River State Governor and FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike stated this during his visit to the people of Khana in Bori, Khana Local Government Area of Rivers.
The minister said that leaders were elected to represent the will of the people and not for personal agendas.
“We will not make the same mistake again at the state level in 2027, but we will talk about it later when the time comes.”
“Just follow your leaders. Anywhere you see them going, that is where we are going,” he said.
He explained that he was not in the community for politics but on a visit to thank the people of Khana for standing with him and for supporting President Bola Tinubu in 2023 when others were afraid to do so.
“During the turbulent period, Khana stood with us, and now you have benefited from good roads to the University of Environment, among other benefits, because of the love of Mr. President.”
“So many appointments have come to Ogoniland, and more are coming,” he promised.
The minister pointed out that the Rivers people will no longer vote based on party but based on family for the development of the state under Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.
Earlier, Rep. Dumnamene Dekor (APC- Khana )commended Wike and Tinubu for making Ogoniland the pride of the nation.
Dekor thanked Wike for visiting communities in Rivers, stressing that the people were ready to do what he asked and go where he wanted them to go.
“We are proud to be associated with you, and whatever you ask us to do, we shall do, and wherever you ask us to go, we shall go,” he said.
The Rep member assured Wike that the lawmakers from Rivers have surrendered their mandate to Tinubu.
Furthermore, speaking on behalf of women in the community, Mrs. Barile Nwakoh (APC Khana 1 State Constituency), thanked Wike for remembering the people of Khana.
Nwakoh said that the minister was receiving enormous support in Rivers because of his goodwill, sincerity, and love for the people.
She gave assurance that the women of Khana were ready to vote for Tinubu if he decides to contest for a second term.
*We are ready to work for Tinubu. Please tell Mr. President that we are here for him and ready to work for his reflection,” she said.
Similarly, Chairman of Khana Local Council, Dr. Thomas Bariere, thanked Wike for standing for the people of the area, adding that when the right people occupied offices, good things happened.
“Since our support for President Tinubu, things have become better for the Khana people.
“You have supported everything good for the people of Khana, and we are deeply grateful for this.”
Bariere assured Wike of the continued support of the people of the Khana local government area.
