Wike woos tourists to Abuja recreational centres

…Promises to give incentives to investors

The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Barr.Nyesom Wike on Friday wooed tourists to some functional recreational centres in Abuja, as he promised good incentives for investors who key into the advantage of the large tourism potentials in the nation’s capital.

Wike listed the Yaba fishing festival, Ushafa pottery center, the millennium towers among other recreational centre as good tourists sites in the federal capital territory.

The minister stated this on Friday in Abuja during commissioning of Water park recreational centre.

He noted that the commissioning of the biggest recreational centre is a testament of vibrancy of Abuja as nations capital city tourism sector.

He said more of such investments will help save the forex exchange capital flight, adding that it would be better utilized in other sectors of the Territory’s economy.

He however decried the untapped potentials of Nigeria’s the tourism sector, adding that it is a lucrative sector that can turn in huge foreign exchange for the country, adding that President Tinubu’s administration has set tourism as a priority and has charged private sector to look into the sector.

The ministry called on FCT residents to also patronize businesses present in Abuja instead of traveling out of the city or out of the country to have fun, as he admonished all business owners not to lower their standards.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Nadeem Group of Companies, Tania Khalaf in her remarks said that the company in the last decade, has followed the vision and drive of its founder, Engr. Saed Khalaf, towards groundbreaking quality and vision-driven construction designs, which is brought to bear in the Sunrise Waterpark.

Khalaf said the landscaping philosophy of the Waterpark was carefully considered to offer open views and showcase the unique beauty of Abuja city.

She said, “In fact, it is one of the rare Waterparks in the world that is built on a hill and that offers spectacular views of the city”.

She however, expressed the optimism that the recreational centre will foster family bonds and friendship as well create jobs and attract foreign investments to the FCT.

“The architectural design displayed in the many attractions and restaurants at the Waterpark creates an unforgettable experience of vibrant fun and recreation for family members of all ages.”

The waterpark promises to create hundreds of jobs for Nigerians in many sectors, including tourism, hospitality, entertainment, transport, media, trade and commerce, real estate and construction, she said.
