“Will Smith Unfazed Amid Jada Pinkett-Smith Drama”

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Will Smith remains seemingly unperturbed by the recent wave of drama involving his estranged wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith. On October 15, 2023, Smith took to his Instagram, sharing a video of himself reclining below deck on a boat. Alongside the video, he captioned the post with a succinct “Notifications off” and opted to restrict comments, allowing only a select few, including a comment from Pinkett-Smith adorned with laughing emojis.

The actor has been a prominent topic of discussion for several days, sparked by Jada Pinkett-Smith’s book tour that commenced on October 11. Throughout her book tour, she dropped the bombshell revelation that she and Smith had been living separately for the past seven years, a disclosure that took many by surprise. Moreover, she indicated her belief that Smith’s altercation with his friend, Chris Rock, at the Oscars was a rehearsed performance.

In a separate interview, Pinkett-Smith expressed her astonishment at Smith referring to her as his wife while defending her at the awards ceremony, given that they had ceased using such terms after their separation. She also dispelled lingering rumors regarding Will Smith’s sexual orientation.

In light of her media appearances, past clips from her talk show, The Red Table Talk, resurfaced. Among them was a 2020 episode in which she confessed to having an “entanglement” with her son’s friend and popular singer, August Alsina. During this episode, Smith, who was a guest on the show, was notably affected by the revelation. Another rediscovered clip featured Pinkett-Smith candidly expressing her reluctance to marry in 1997 when the couple tied the knot at the Cloisters Castle in Baltimore, Maryland. She recounted how the decision to marry was influenced by her pregnancy and family pressures.

Despite the widespread public attention and ensuing discussions concerning the dynamics of their relationship, Will Smith appears to remain unperturbed, prompting the emergence of the hashtag #FreeWill among those advocating for an official divorce.
