Women ministry announce activities to mark World Cancer Day

As part of activities marking this years world cancer day, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Wife of the Kebbi State Governor’s pet programme; the MedicAid Cancer Foundation have put together a number of advocacy programmes to raise awareness and provide intervention against the menace of cancer.

Part of the programme include cancer screening and joint Press Briefing by the Hon. Ministers of Women Affairs and Health, scheduled to take place on Thursday, 24th October, 2019 at the Conference Room National Hospital, by 9.00am. There would also be a free Breast Cancer Screening excercise on Thursday 24 and Friday  25th October, 2019, the venue is the National Hospital, Abuja and Jabi Hospital,  by 8.45a.m every day.

Also scheduled as part of activities is a . Cancer Awareness Walk on Saturday 26th October, 2019. The walk would take off from No. 2 Libreville
Crescent, Wuse II and terminates at the National Hospital, Abuja by 7.00 a.m.

A statement by Shehu Musa the Director of Press, Ministry of Women Affairs advised women to take advantage of the screening exercise to know their cancer status.
