Nollywood actor and producer Yul Edochie found himself subjected to online mockery as he celebrated his colleague, Ali Nuhu, on his recent appointment as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation. Yul congratulated Ali Nuhu on Instagram, expressing that the appointment was well-deserved.
However, social media users took the opportunity to mock Yul for not receiving a similar appointment despite his vocal campaigns and public displays of support for President Bola Tinubu. Some comments suggested that Yul’s efforts to secure an appointment had not been successful, while others humorously noted that his friends were achieving great things while he was yet to achieve such recognition.
This incident comes after Yul Edochie had openly declared his love for President Tinubu, even giving himself the nickname “Asiwaju Baby.” Despite his public endorsements, it seems that Yul’s aspirations for a political appointment did not materialize, leading to playful taunts from online observers.
In contrast, Yul Edochie recently received an award and title from the Arewa Youths, recognizing his contributions to nation-building, youth empowerment, and socioeconomic and political development.
