By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The Nigeria Association of Women Journalist (NAWOJ) FCT Chapter has enjoined Women, older persons  and Nigerians to  take  the COVID,- 19 precautionary protocols seriously particularly  in this Yuletide season.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairperson NAWOJ FCT, Comr.Annah Daniel and The Secretary Comr.Nkiru Okeke.

The statement said that observing the precautionary protocols was necessary as Nigeria is experiencing the second wave of COVID-19.

Daniel emphasized the need for self-responsibility in curbing the virus  as the burden is more on  issues on women, and older persons.

She further urged women to be mindful of their children’s health during this season of celebration and to guard against rape and abuse of their wards.

Recently President Muhammad Buhari

has authorised the PTF to engage with the States and the FCT to  enforce measures to ensure compliance to the precautionary protocols to curb the pandemic in the country.

The association also called on Nigerians to shun all forms of violence and to embrace peace in this festive season of love.
