Ten days ahead of the forthcoming bye-elections for Bakura local government state legislative constituency, the joint security chiefs in the state under the leadership of the state commissioner of police Mr. Usman Nagoggo, has issued a strong warning to politicians to comply with the rules of the law.
In a press briefing today at the state police command attended by all the security chiefs in the state, Nagoggo stressed that the law enforcement agencies will not spare anybody, no matter his socio-political position, to scuttle, or district the process through intimidation, thuggery, attempted rigging or any act capable of generating chaos.
He said already, about 2300 security personel were earmarked for mobilization to the election area, explaining that the team comprises of the police, the military, FRSC, NSCDC, NPS, NIS, Nigeria Custom Services and all other security support providing organs in the state.
He said as Bakura local government is identified as one of the most volatile area, adequete care and arrangement has been made to ensure security of lives and properties during the elections.
Nagoggo further explained that the joint security chiefs will tomorrow Thursday, meet with all political stakeholders in Bakura local government to sign a peace pact for the peaceful conduct of their actions.
