Zamfara govt distributes 850 motorcycles to civilian JTFs.

Few days after recruiting 8500 civilian JTF, governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara state has procured motorcycles for immediate distribution to the auxiliary securities.

The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs Alhaji Bello Damkande Gamji who distributed the motorcycles to the volunteer JTFs, said the policy was to motivate and reinforce them to effectively assist in crushing banditry in the state.

Dankande discloses that each of the seventeen emirates in the state is allocated 500 motorcycles for onward distribution to the volunteer JTFs

He also announced that a handsome amount of money is provided, out of which five hundred thousand (#500,000) naira is on the ground for fuelling and other emergencies.

Receiving 50 motorcycles for his emirate, the Emir of Anka, who is also the chairman traditional council of chiefs His highness Alhaji Attahiu Muhammad Ahmad urges the state government to also allow the JTF to use sophisticated firearms like the Ak47 so that they can effectively face the herculean challenge.

He said the bandits are now migrating from their enclaves and now stealthily mixing with village communities, suggesting that there is no need for arming the civilian JTF.
