ZAMFARA GOVT RECRUITS 7,500 COMMUNITY POLICE PERSONNEL

The conceived policy of Community policing initiated by the Inspector General of Police Mr. Muhammad Adamu Abubakar has started yielding result, with the government of Zamfara leading as the first in the country to formally launch the programe today, with the recruitment of 7,500 candidates.

The state commissioner of police Mr. Usman Nagoggo who performed the flagging off ceremony at the state police command, said community policing was designed to guarantee security from the neighborhood to ward, local and levels.

He recalls that last year, the Inspector general of police launched the program with the aim of taking back the issue of handling security from the community level, which means that the community would be involved in securing their respective environments.

The commissioner said the first batch of 3850 will immediately be dispatched.
