ZAMFARA GUBER CANDIDATE SUSPENDS CAMPAIGN OVER INSECURITY.

From Abba Kabara, Gusau.

Zamfara state gubernatorial candidate of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) Senator Sa’idu Muhammad Dansadau has announced the suspension of his electioneering campaign as well as all other political activities.

Makinh the announcement in a press statement, Senator Damsadau said the measure became necessary considering the persistent killings, maiming, kidnapping and wanton destruction of properties suffered by innocent peasant and rural communities across the state.

He said the insensitivity of the authorities responsible for addressing the ugly situation is alarmingly worrying.

He said there is no point going for political campaign while lives and safety of innocent electorates have continued to remain worthless.

He said the situation is so alarming to attract the sympathy and respect for lives and safety of citizens of Zamfara state.

Dansadau opines that since the state governor Abdulaziz Yari has renounced his responsibility as the chief security of the state, it becomes imperative that President Buhari himself should take over as the chief security of the state.

He complains that the Federal government has not been fair to the state just as it fails to show the needed concern and care for the lives and security of citizens of Zamfara.

“we have been observing with deep regret how the Federal government is attending and assisting victims in other states” he laments, stressing that the Federal authority Under Buhari has continued to treat Zamfara as if it were not a constitutional territory of the Nigerian Nation.

He recalls that he once call for prescribing a state of emergency for state due to the magnitude of damage being afflicted to citizens and properties, but government did not heed to the call.

“I strongly believe that placing state of emergency on the state will greatly reduce the menace”, he emphasizes, stressing that unless Governor Abdulaziz is deposed from power, the problem will continue to worsen.
