Zamfara Senators Ask FG to offer Amnesty to Repentant Bandits

Zamfara State lawmakers in the National Assembly on Wednesday asked the Federal Government to offer amnesty to the repentant bandits in the North West.

Briefing journalists in the National Assembly, spokesperson for the group, Senator Sa’abi Yau said the government should offer amnesty to the repentant bandits because they are convinced that these repentant bandits should be encouraged to contribute positively to society.

He said their conviction comes on the heels of a similar success recorded in the Niger Delta when late President Umaru Yaradua granted amnesty to repentant militants.
