Zoomlion Holds Agricultural Machinery Exhibition in Abuja

By Michael Onjewu, Abuja

Leading Chinese firm, Zoomlion Agriculture Machinery Company Limited, hosted an exhibition to showcase its latest machinery: the RK 754-A and RK 504-A tractors.

Held at the China-Nigeria Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center in Ushafa, Abuja on Tuesday, the exhibition aligns with Zoomlion’s commitment to promoting mechanized farming and achieving food security in Nigeria.

Attended by government officials, farmers, and stakeholders in the agricultural value chain, the event also provided an opportunity for the machinery company to sign partnership agreements with new distributors.

In his remarks, Hillary Aroboinosen, Principal Agricultural Engineer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, stated that the federal government remains fully committed to supporting mechanization initiatives through public-private partnerships and facilitating the acquisition of affordable machinery for farmers.

“The role of mechanization in transforming agriculture cannot be overstated. Modern agricultural machinery has the potential to bridge the gap between subsistence farming and commercially viable farming, enabling our farmers to adapt to the challenges of climate change, rising population demands, and global market competition,” he said.

“Exhibitions like this one are pivotal in demonstrating the latest innovations, fostering collaborations, and empowering farmers with the tools they need to thrive. ”

Other stakeholders emphasized the importance of agricultural mechanization in ensuring food security, creating employment opportunities, and generating revenue in Nigeria.

The event featured the exhibition and demonstration of the RK 754-A and RK 504-A tractors, both manufactured by Zoomlion Agriculture Machinery Limited.

Speaking on the machines, Isah Ibrahim, Service Engineer at Zoomlion, noted that the tractors are efficient, durable, cost-effective, and provide easy access to spare parts.

He pledged the firm’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s quest for food sufficiency through agricultural mechanization.

The exhibition concluded with the signing of contracts between Zoomlion and new distributors, as well as the presentation of gifts to attendees.
