Gov.Ishaku Declares Operation Ayem Akpatuma II in Taraba

with donations of 20 Motorcycles 2 Hilux.

The Taraba state Governor, Darius Dickson Ishaku have declared opened the training exercise of the Operation Ayem Akpatuma II  in Taraba state.

Declaring the exercise open in Jalingo, Governor Ishaku caution the Military to be diligent in the discharge of their duties by dealing with bandits, cattle rustlers, Kidnappers carrying guns than arresting villagers who carry knives, bow and arrows.

The Governor commend the doggedness of the Nigerian Army for taking the pain by introduce the operation to clampdown crime in Taraba state.

Ishaku who pledged his commitment in supporting the Nigerian Army in their assignment while in the state, donated and commissioned 20 motorcycles, 2 Hilux  for the operation Ayem Akpatuma, calling on the people of Taraba state to be law abiding citizens more especially the affected areas.

He said about thirty cases of kidnapping were recorded in the month of September twenty nineteen in the State adding that the cases that have not been reported by some victim’s family who chose to handle  the case without recourse to the security agencies.

According to the Governor, estimated the sum of about two hundred to three hundred million naira to have been paid to kidnappers as ransom within the period over review.

Ishaku said the revelation calls for sensitive Government to be on it toes to combat any form of criminality and security challenges hence his support to the Exercise of Ayem Akpatuma two with two hilux vehicles and twenty motor circles.

He further said the Nigeria Army remain the most consistent sector of the Nigeria security architecture right from independence facing the complex task of keeping Nigeria one and protecting the nation from external and internal aggression.

The Governor  pointed out that the Military has been severally accused of using excessive force in internal security operations which is in variance to the role of the Military in Democratic set up particularly when dealing with none criminal civilians.

In his Speech, the General Officer Commanding three division Major General Nuhu Angbazo, Represented by Brigadier General Briggs Daniel said the theme of the training, Inter Agency cooperation, imperative for effective joint operation was done to cement relationship with other sister agencies.

The General disclosed that the exercise which will commence on the first of November and run to December twenty third will also be conducted in Kogi, Nassarawa and Benue State.

The GOC appreciated the Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai and President Mohammadu Buhari for supporting the Nigeria Army to maintain peace in the Country.

Earlier, Brigadier General Mohammed in charge of the twenty three brigade Yola said the the training would create a platform for the Nigeria Army and other agencies to brainstorm towards effective cooperation in combating insecurity across the Country.

High point of the ceremony was the presentation of sourvenirs and official declaration of the one day training by Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku.
