New NSCDC commandant assumes duty in A’Ibom, warns miscreants

A new State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Akwa Ibom has assumed duty with a warning to miscreants to relocate from the state.

Mr Samuel Fadeyi, who is the11th state Commandant of the Corps in the area told journalists in Uyo yesterday that he would make the state unconducive for miscreants to operate any longer.

Fadeyi, who has been a legal practitioner for 29 years and has been in the Corps for more than 14 years took over from Mr Adeyinka Ayinla, who has been posted to Lagos command as the Statement Commandant.

“I am a Legal Practitioner as well as the New State Commandant of Akwa Ibom Command. I have experiences particularly as a prosecutor and I have a track records in jailing criminals.

“Recently, I have just been transferred into the state from Zone F Abeokuta Command, and I have served severally at Ogun State command, Abeokuta State command, Lagos State Command, Rivers State Command as well as FCT before coming here,” Fadeyi said.

He promised to improve on the existing security situation in the state to ensure adequate protection of government critical infrastructure appealing to Akwa Ibom people not to compromise on the existing cordial relationship with the corps.

“I see that this state is peaceful, but there are still some miscreants around, particularly in the area of our mandated. I don’t intend to compromise in any form and this is sounding a note of warning to them that a jailer is in town.

“It has been one of my track records of imprisoning and getting people prosecuted and being jailed for all their infractions of the law, particularly as it regards our mandate in protecting critical infrastructure.” He said.

He solicited for useful information from members of the public regarding criminals and their activities in the state assuring that all information given would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
