Trust in God, Coronavirus will pass away — Bishop

Must read

The Bishop, Anglican Diocese of Lagos, Rt. Rev. Humphrey Olumakaiye, on Sunday, urged Nigerians to trust in God, as the Coronavirus would pass away.
Olumakaiye gave the assurance in his message to the nation on Palm Sunday, which was made available 0in a statement in Lagos.
According to him, God is a refuge and strength, always present to help in times of troubles.
“In the midst of Coronavirus (COVID- 19), Palm Sunday is telling us that the world is in the palms of God’s hand.
“God works through all things for good, including COVID -19 crisis. Let us trust Him, this will also pass away,” he said.
He said that though the beautiful plans for the Palm Sunday had been altered, God’s plans would never be thwarted.
“COVID-19 is not a surprise to God, that we shall be worshipping Him today in an empty Church. God is in control. He has a plan to use even the worst tragedies to do amazing things.
“Instead of allowing yourself to be filled with fear, hopelessness, and discouragement, let us love Jesus again with the same kind of desperation as He was welcomed into Jerusalem,” the bishop said.
He commended the federal and Lagos State governments, for all their efforts at putting a quick end to the disruption of everyone’s daily existence.
“Special commendation goes to our Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and all the good people who have contributed toward the alleviation of the sufferings of the weak and the vulnerable among us.
“At the end of this tunnel there will be light,” he said.
