Mohbad’s Autopsy: Toxicology Results Ready, Analysis Commences

Must read

The investigation into the cause of death of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reached a crucial phase as the toxicology test, a pivotal component of the autopsy, has been finalized.

According to updates from PUNCH Metro, the toxicology examination, which was conducted in the United States, was confirmed by State counsel Oluwaseun Akinde during a session at the coroner’s court in the Ikorodu area of the state in November 2023.

Akinde elaborated that while the initial autopsy focusing on the external body had been completed, the toxicology test aimed to delve deeper into internal factors contributing to the tragic demise of the late singer.

Subsequently, an undisclosed official from the Lagos State Government informed PUNCH correspondents on Thursday that the test results had been successfully returned to Nigeria and forwarded to the police.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity due to a lack of authorization to discuss the matter, highlighted the challenges faced during the investigation, including the destruction of a laboratory during the #EndSARS protests, necessitating the overseas testing.

Furthermore, a source within the Lagos State Police Command, also speaking anonymously, confirmed the receipt of the toxicology report. However, the complex medical terminology requires interpretation by pathologists who conducted the autopsy before it can be comprehensively understood and communicated to the public through the office of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).
