2021 Pilgrimage: NCPC soon to commence exercise to Israel, Jordan and Rome by end of May – Rev. Pam

By Joyce Remi-Babayeju

The Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Rev. Yakubu Pam has disclosed that the 2021 main Pilgrimage exercise to Israel, Jordan and Rome will commence by the end of May, 2022.
Rev. Pam disclosed this on 21st April, 2022 in Abuja, during a meeting of Conference of States, comprising States Chairmen and Executive Secretaries of states Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards, including FCT.
This was contained in a press release signed by Celestine Toruka

Head Media & Public Relations, of the Commission made available to Daybreak today.
According to the release, Rev. Pam urged the state Pilgrimage Leaders to work with the new date for the commencement of the 2021 main Pilgrimage Exercise by ensuring that they step up their mobilization drive for intending pilgrims in their various states.

Pam also enjoined the stakeholders to apply wisdom of God while carrying out their Pilgrimage assignment as Pilgrimage is a spiritual exercise. He posited that with such wisdom, they would be able to break barriers and achieve much in the mobilization of intending pilgrims.

He decried the low sponsorship of intending Christian pilgrims from the North West region of the country as he admonished the pilgrimage managers from the North West to join forces with the Commission to change the narratives through effective mobilization and strong advocacy.

Furthermore the NCPC boss also stressed that the Commission would soon commence aggressive mobilization drive to different geo-political zones for increased pilgrimage sponsorship, adding that he would lead his team to meet with the States Chief Executives as well as relevant stakeholders on the need to sponsor someone on the Holy journey.
He added that during the mobilization drive, the Commission would be able to inspect some designated Airports that would be used for the airlift of intending pilgrims from that Zone.

Meanwhile Rev. Pam and the members of the Conference of States agreed to spearhead a meeting with Church leaders, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN and Pilgrimage leaders to discuss the future of Christian Pilgrimage in Nigeria.
