2023: Kano Chief Of Staff, More Commissioners Resigned

By Jabiru Hassan, Kano.

Aftermath of the Kano state governor’s directive that all political appointees wishing to contest 2022 elections should step down, Kano Chief of staff and some commissioners tendered their resignation letters indicating their interests to fully participate in the political activities in compliance with the section 84 (12) amended electoral act.

This has brought the number of commissioners and other political appointees to reach more than expectation which means that Kano politics is rapidly taking another dimension especially at this precious time when the issue of 2023 general elections is fast approaching.

It was gathered that Alhaji Ali Haruna, the chief of staff government House, Honourable Aminu Tsanyawa commissioner for health, his counterpart, Kabiru Ado Lakwaya commissioner youth and sports, Mahmoud Santsai Housing and Transport as well as other special advisers tendered their resignations Monday.

Political analyst describes the mass resignations as a new down for the democracy where every citizen is allowed to seek elective post as contained in the Nigerian Constitution which is a landmark achievements.
