2023: Religious leaders mobilize over 1000 preachers to pray for successful election

*Calls on colleagues in Jerusalem, Saudi for prayers

Nigerian Religious leaders have mobilized thousand preachers for prayers toward the success of 2023 general elections.

The clerics are also calling on their counterparts in Saudi Arabia and Jerusalem to support them with prayers for successful election in Nigeria.
Already, over 1000 Muslim and Christian clergies from the 19 northern states of Nigeria are being mobilised to offer special prayers before, during and after the 2023 general election while calling on their counterparts from Saudi and Jerusalem to equally support them with prayers

They’re also praying for any candidates that emerged to address poverty, crimes, unemployment, banditry, kidnapping, Boko haram, IPOP, and general insecurity issues bordering peace stability in the country.

The General overseer of Christ’s Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Pastor Yohanna Buru, made the calls when he visited some Muslims scholars in Kaduna with the aims of promoting friendship,peacefully coexistence, interreligious tolerance, forgiveness and better understanding among different faith based organization in the country

According to him, his organisation “Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria”, has commences mobilising pastors and Imams across the country on the need to embark on ceaseless prayers for God to make it easy for the success of 2023 elections.

“As next month election approaches, all the senatorial, gubernatorial, and presidential aspirants need serious prayers for God’s guidance, success, and victory, and hence the need for all faith based clerics to organize prayer for all the candidates irrespective of their political parties,regional or historical background.

“We pray that may almighty God give them wisdom on how to best represent everyone in the country irrespective of tribe, culture, religion, or region.

“God gives our leaders wisdom that they may do things beyond their understanding. Help them choose the right path when they decide on behalf of this nation”, he prayed.

He continued by stating that they pray for all the gubernatorial and presidential candidates while encouraging them to seek God’s guidance and protection before, during, and after the general election.

He added that they pray that candidates would have listening ears and soft hearts to promote Girl-child education, boost agricultural activities, and improve medical health systems across the country in order to reduce maternal and infants mortality.

“We pray for strength and encouragement of our leaders and election candidates,” he stated.

Similarly, Alaramma Ibrahim Musa, one of the Islamic clerics in Kaduna, also called on Muslims and Christians to always pray for their leaders, saying that it is suitable for all citizens to support their leaders with prayers so that God would help him deliver.

He then called on politicians to stop using thugs during their political campaigns.

While appealing to concerned citizens and non-Governmental organisation for sustainable democracy, they should continuously sensitise the public on ways to conduct a credible election.
He called on youths to shun politics of thuggery, drug abuse, and stop participating in all forms of crises.
