By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Prominent members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani ahead of the 2027 elections, citing their leadership and people-oriented policies.

A statement released on Friday noted that stakeholders of the APC in Kaduna State have passed a vote of confidence on both Tinubu and Uba Sani, praising their governance and policy direction.

The stakeholders’ meeting, chaired by Governor Uba Sani, was attended by notable political figures, including Malam Lawal Samaila Abdullahi Yakawada, a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) under the late Governor Ibrahim Yakowa’s PDP administration; Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, who represented Kaduna North under the PDP; and Senator Danjuma Tela La’ah, a former representative of Southern Kaduna in the 9th Senate.

Other PDP stalwarts present at the meeting included former Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramallan Yero and former Senator Shehu Sani, among other key political figures.

A statement signed by Kaduna APC State Secretary, Malam Yahaya Baba Pate, and released on Saturday, confirmed that the stakeholders’ meeting was held at the Kaduna State Liaison Office in Abuja last Thursday. The meeting reviewed the outcomes of recent zonal and state meetings, welcomed new members and returnees to the party, and assessed the performance of the APC-led administration at both the federal and state levels.

According to Malam Yahaya, the stakeholders resolved to conduct caucus meetings at zonal, local government, and ward levels before the second anniversary of the APC administration to formally introduce new members and returnees. Additionally, the meeting directed relevant stakeholders to establish or revitalize party offices across wards, local government areas, and zonal levels within the next three months.

Among the dignitaries at the meeting were the Honourable Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas Lawal; the National Vice Chairman (North West Zone) of the APC, Honourable Garba Datti Muhammad (Babawo); and the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Dahiru Liman.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Henry Magaji; Majority Leader, Hon. Munira Tanimu; Chairman of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Malam Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar; and Chairman of the Public Complaint Commission, Alhaji Bashir Abubakar.

Additionally, the Honorary Adviser to the Governor, Mal. Abdulmumini Aminu Zaria; Hon. Sani Mahmud Shaaban; APC State Chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (Rtd); and the State Secretary, Hon. Yahaya Baba Pate, were present.

The statement further highlighted the participation of Organising Secretary, Hon.
