Kaduna State Government on Monday announced immediate imposition of 24-hour curfew on Sabon Garin Nassarawa-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA of the state.
Details on how and when the incidents occurred were yet to be ascertained by our correspondent at the time of filing this reports.
However, the decision to imposed the 24hours curfew, by government was allegedly due to breakdown of law and order in the area following the killing of the two persons.
Official statement signed by the state commissioner for internal security and home affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, attributed the killing of the two to incident of urban violence.
“The Kaduna State Government hereby announces the immediate imposition of 24-hour curfew on Sabon Garin Nassarawa-Tirkaniya area of Chikun LGA.
“This decision was reached following a breakdown of law and order which led to the killing of two citizens in an incident of urban gang violence.
“Security agencies have been directed to enforce the curfew in the said location, to restore order as investigations proceed. Citizens are therefore urged to strictly observe the curfew in this location, which takes effect immediately”, it stated.
Further updates on the situation will be communicated accordingly”, official statement added.
