5 Habits that will only make you broke

Does it seem like you hardly ever have money at the end of the month or like you are constantly living from pay cheque to pay cheque hoping for that raise that will take you out of the brokenness level? As Bobrisky once said ‘Calm down!’ getting enough money alone will not take you out of the brokenness level, 6 out of 10 people are broke not because they don’t earn enough but because they have broke attraction habits. Below are some broke attraction habits you should avoid if you don’t want to be broke forever or become poor:
1. LAZINESS
Laziness is an act of being productive at unimportant things. Nothing attracts brokenness like laziness. Having a lack of desire to do what is meant to be done will cost you more in the long run. You don’t feel like cooking, so you order food, you don’t feel like doing laundry, you pay someone to do it, you don’t feel like walking, you take a cab, you don’t feel like working, so you resign and wait for handouts. When you are too focused on comfort and convenience without corresponding hard work, you will continue to be in a state of perpetual brokenness.
2. LAVISH LIVING
You are probably broke because you want to live a champagne life on a Zobo budget, instead of you to cut your coat according to your fabric size, you are cutting it according to your perceived size. You are committed to living a life that your budget can not accommodate, you are out socializing every day, buying aso ebi like no man’s business, your rent takes more than half of your yearly income and you wonder why you barely have anything left at the end of the month. When you live above your means, you are not just going to remain broke, you might probably slip into poverty.
3. FREESTYLE LIVING
You know your rent is due every 12 months, instead of you to make financial adjustments and start putting money away towards it, you wait till the 11th month to start looking for who will lend you money or manna from heaven, your children’s school fees are due every three months but you don’t think about it till a week to resumption, and start borrowing left right and center over a non-emergency.
When you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If you continue living life in a freestyle mode, you could be broke for the rest of your life.
4. ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY
One of the reasons a lot of people are broke is because they underutilize their earning ability and feel entitled to other’s assistance towards them. you know you can earn so much more but you decide to do little while wishing your rich brother will sort out your deficit and praying for unmerited grace and favor that you have refused to put in the work for. Praying for better times is not a bad thing, but when the prayer is not backed with actions, it becomes bad. Instead of you to be looking at ways to maximize your earning potential and increase your stream of income, you are waiting for someone to come and save you, if you don’t drop the entitlement, you could be broke forever.
5. LACK OF SELF IMPROVEMENT
A lot of people slip into the brokeness rut not because they have terrible financial habits but because they have refused to improve themselves. You are earning your 100k now, living your life on the low key without debts or major expenses, but you refused to develop yourself to earn enough to accommodate your future expenses. You are planning to start a family in two years on the same 100k income without trying to upgrade your skill to be able to earn more. The longer the years we spend on earth, the more our expenses increase till it peaks at around 60years of age. If you don’t consistently develop yourself to be able to match earn as much or more than your future expenses you could be broke forever.
