The Kaduna State Government has launched an ambitious program to provide free medical screenings for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to 500,000 residents. Governor Uba Sani announced the initiative during the kickoff of “Project 10 Million – Know Your Number, Control Your Number” on October 28, 2024.

Represented by Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, Sani highlighted the alarming fact that the likelihood of dying from NCDs between the ages of 30 and 70 is 17%, significantly impacting the productive population. The initiative aims to raise awareness and address the growing concern surrounding NCDs in Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of early detection and management.
