From Noah Ocheni, Lokoja

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman on Thursday in Lokoja appealed to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board to reconsider given the institution a Computer Based Test Examination Centre.

Dr. Usman who made the appeal at the 29th Matriculation Ceremony of the Polytechnic, held in Lokoja regretted that the former CBTE Centre approved for the institution ran into a hitch.

The Rector disclosed that following the alleged action or inaction of a staff of the institution, the CBTE Centre was penalized, said the matter is, however, being addressed administratively with the view to unraveling the circumstances that led to why the centre ran into hitch.

He called on the Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede to give the institution a second chance by approving the CBTE Centre for the Polytechnic, stressing that the institution is made up of people of high integrity.

The Rector pointed out that the institution has recorded several milestone achievements as it relates to Information and Technology Centre, a fully renovated hostel that provides all the comfort needed by students, a well equipped Library, and an approval of N300m by Gov. Bello for the fencing of the Itakpe Campus.

He therefore urged students to regards their matriculation into the Institution as the beginning of their journey to greatness.
