Following the building collapse that happened one week ago in Ebute- meta that claimed lives , leaving others injured, it is against this back drop that the Lagos State Government is set to embark on a week-long demolition of identified distressed buildings in the state as part of efforts to secure lives and properties in the state.
The State Commissioner for Physical and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako disclosed this on Monday in a statement while giving updates on Government’s building collapse prevention plans.
Salako added that structures to be demolished during the exercise are those marked as distressed by the Lagos State building control Agency.
He said the administration of Babajide Sanwo- olu is committed to ensuring the safety of lives and properties; He also reiterated the residents to remain vigilant of the environment and report any untoward development through the ministry or the state government communication channels.
