The Chief of Jukun Kona in Jalingo Kur Kona, Augustine Njanmeng has decried the occupation and seizure of 17 villages belonging to Jukun Kona by Fulani herdsmen.
Kur Augustine made this known while briefing newsmen in Jalingo.
The monarch, accused the herdsmen of comfortability grazing on the farms of the displaced people, carrying sophisticated weapons to shoot anyone in sight.
He called on both the government and international community to intervene so as to return the displaced people back to their ancestral homes.
He cautioned the government of an impending food crisis in the state if those displaced did not return to continue with their farming.
Augustine also said that his two farms running into 12 hectares had been destroyed by the herdsmen.
Daybreak correspondent visited some of the farms destroyed and reports that so many farms have been turned into grazing fields by the herders.
Mr James Ayuba, one of the farmers whose farm had been destroyed by the herdsmen called on government at all levels to end the crisis.
Our correspondent who contacted, Alhaji Sahabi Tukur, Taraba State Chapter Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) to balance the report, said he was not authorised by his national office to respond but promised to seek clearance from their head office.
