Ndokwa: Abala community laments lack of govt presence

The Abala community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State has lamented over non recognition by the State Government.

The Odogwu of Abala Kingdom and Philanthropy in the community, Dr. Christopher Iwale, who spoke to Journalists, frowned that Abala community has never tasted any social amenities.

He disclosed that the community has been suffering from bad access road, school, hospital and electricity.

He said that the community have only one primary School, adding that the secondary School in the community was built by the community and there is no adequate teachers to teach the students due to poor road network.

According him, he bought dredging machine to fill the roads on his capacity, hoping that through that effort, Government will intervene, yet Government still adamant.

“We have written to people in authority to help our community, they keep on promising that they will respond in a short time, all still no avail”.

Dr. Iwela noted that the Abala community produce large quantity of plantain, yam and fish but they found it very difficult to convey the goods to the market and the buyers take advantage of them.

Chief Iwela who emphasized that the community have suffered a lot, he decided to purchase vehicle and speed boat for anti- cult to assist the security operative in the community.

“I do all these to my people not because I have everything but it is what my conscience direct me to do and I don’t expect anyone coming back to worship me for my Philanthropic nature”.

He appealed to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to remember his community, Abala because the community has been abandoned for too long.

He advised the youths in Abala to be patient, saying that he believed that one day somebody will come to their rescue.

He added that it is painful after graduating from higher institution tjere is no good job to end a living

.
