Certain western politicians should immediately stop meddling in Hong Kong affairs

Hong Kong was put into extreme chaos by illegal assemblies and violent protests, which have lasted more than two months and aroused resentment among Hong Kong residents.

When the Hong Kong society is calling for immediate actions to stop violence, some politicians of certain western countries couldn’t resist the temptation to meddle in Hong Kong.

By openly supporting radical protestors and intervening in China’s internal affairs, these politicians play a disgraceful role during the recent protests and violent incidents. Recently, they don’t even bother to conceal their evil intentions as they step from behind the scenes to the stage.

In the color revolutions taking place since the end of the 20th century, western forces usually hid behind violent demonstrators and manipulated the latter’s behaviors, or clamored for violence and conspired to stir up trouble in a cloak of morality and justice. However, the old tricks proven useful in other places didn’t work in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong police who they want to discredit and strike down not only exercised professionalism and restraint, but also fulfilled their duties with sheer determination. They never backed down in the face of pressure.

To show their support for the police, Hong Kong residents took part in massive activities. Large groups of people visited several police stations in Hong Kong to express their firm support for and utmost respect to the police force, praising the police officers as the shield of Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong people have grown fed up with some western politicians who instructed, trained and funded radical protestors to destabilize Hong Kong. An increasing number of Hong Kong residents have expressed the hope that violence and chaos could be ended and order be resumed.

As the attempt to destabilize Hong Kong is about to fail, certain politicians naturally become anxious.

Under the “one country, two systems” principle, Hong Kong is widely acknowledged for its free business environment and high international competitiveness.

Some western officials are so naive and arrogant as to believe that they can throw Hong Kong into turmoil by making a few excuses, chanting several slogans, and fostering some minions. Stability and peace is in the interest of Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong people could perfectly tell right from wrong. So could all the Chinese people.

The ulterior motive of some western politicians to launch the anti-China agenda through destabilizing Hong Kong has been exposed. By intervening in Hong Kong affairs and instigating violent incidents, their purpose to restrain China by fair means or foul has also been revealed.

US vice president Mike Pence recently proposed that the Sino-US economic and trade negotiations be linked to Hong Kong issues. This is nothing but political blackmail.

The western politicians underestimated the ability of the Hong Kong government to exercise legal governance and that of the police to enforce the law, the aspiration of the Hong Kong people for stability, and the determination and willpower of the Chinese government to safeguard national sovereignty, security, unity and Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability.

The external forces and radical protestors are going against the trend of history by fanning up disorder in Hong Kong, and initiating the anti-China agenda through destabilizing Hong Kong is never going to succeed.

Hong Kong’s affairs are purely China’s internal affairs and no other countries, organizations or individuals have the right to meddle in China’s domestic affairs.

Any attempt to cause chaos in Hong Kong and curb China’s development will not get its way. Any practice that undermines Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability and challenges the bottom line of the “one country, two systems” principle will surely be condemned by all Chinese people, including the Hong Kong compatriots.

Certain western politicians should immediately stop meddling in Hong Kong affairs.
